Neighborhood change, community building, and project planning are all long-distance endeavors. It takes stamina, know-how, and devotion to overcome daily hurdles. In rare moments of impatience, our former director, Tom Stephens, would remind us to keep the main goal – engaging neighbors to build great neighborhoods – at the heart of our work.

As a way of encouraging our Louisville neighbors to keep the main thing, the main thing, Center for Neighborhoods staff will share perspectives from our day-to-day work. We will also have neighbors tell their own stories of success and devotion. We offer these stories to spotlight the power of neighbors, to provide insights into best practices of neighborhood building and community planning, and to spread the inspiration.
