During this, our 50th anniversary year, we’ll be sharing 50 reason to celebrate Center for Neighborhoods — one reason each week. The posts will come from different stakeholders in the organization, representing our past, present, and future.
At 50 years old, Center for Neighborhoods is one of the oldest community design centers in the country.
We’ve evolved considerably since our founding in 1972, adding neighborhood education and engagement to our original design work. But what’s remained constant all these years is our commitment to neighborhoods in everything we do.
As we look back on 50 years of engaging with neighbors to build great neighborhoods, we have so much to celebrate!
In honor of our golden anniversary, we’ve just released three short videos commemorating our history and highlighting two of our signature programs: Neighborhood Institute and Better Block.
We invite you to take a few minutes to grab a cup of coffee, settle into your favorite chair, and tune in to learn a little about what we’ve been up to and where we’re going. Click here to watch.
Even as we celebrate our accomplishments, we recognize there’s still much work to be done. Our city has faced challenging years, and now is the time to invest in our Louisville neighborhoods to build stronger communities. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the last 50 years, it’s that prioritizing authentic engagement with neighbors is the best way to build strong neighborhoods.
You can help strengthen Louisville’s neighborhoods by making a tax-deductible gift to Center for Neighborhoods. Together, we can continue supporting Louisville neighbors as they build great neighborhoods.
